Denby
Denby is the maker of beautiful everyday dinnerware, china, porcelain, and stoneware. Denby is known for its fluid colors, reflective glazes, and has a modern fresh look. Denby is made in the United Kingdom and has a history of almost 200 years in the making.

What is it about Denby that makes it so popular among all ages and genders. Their new slogan says it all “Everybody loves good food” and its quite obvious that great food looks and tastes better if its well presented, and Desby is one of the best brands to do this on your table.
Whether you are using it for everyday or even for more formal occasions, it adds a touch to your table and especially to your food. The availability of so many patterns with such great combinations of colors definitely makes the setting of your table look amazing. The color combinations also allow to accent your specialty dishes that you prepare for yourself and your family. Every piece has been designed for cooking, serving and eating food.
Why is it so expensive? Denby has been around for more than 200 years and its quality still remains the same as two hundred years ago. Denby has over 5000 glazes, all harder than steel. It's taken Denby over 180 years to get their glazes as flawless as they are, meaning their tableware washes more easily, but chips less easily which also means that their tableware is really much harder to crack than any other tableware.
All Denby tableware is practical, durable and extremely good looking.
Denby History
Denby's history began in 1806, when William Bourne, examined clay and recognised its exceptional qualities. Three years later production of salt-glazed pottery was started at Denby. Salt glazing was a popular method of decorating stoneware at this time. Common salt was thrown onto the kiln fires when the embers were at their hottest. The salt vapour combined with the surface of the pot to produce a shiny brown surface coating.
By the late 1800's Denby Pottery diversified by extending its kitchenware range and developed richly coloured glazes which were to become Denby's trade mark.
By the 1920's Denby's functional kitchenware could be found in many homes.
Major changes to Denby's product range were taken in the 1950's when the pottery became predominantly a producer of tableware.
The 1970's brought a revolution in 'oven-to-tableware' - Denby's striking designs and practicality alleviated the need for separate cooking dishes and more decorative plates for serving.
By the 1980's 'casual dining' became more popular and ranges such as Imperial Blue and Regency Green were able to fit into both formal entertaining and family gatherings.
Denby produces 3 types of dinnerware: Stoneware, Porcelin and China
